Devon and the Gofer Boy - WIP

A commission for the lovely Alina from Arlong Park Forums.
I just noticed that it's your birthday! Happy birthday! :'D I actually have another small artsy present for you that's not done yet, in return for so kindly offering Ace and Lucci cards as well. =w= I'm such a sucker for Lucci.

This is a W.I.P. and is by no means finished yet, but it's proof that I did actually start working on it, heh. |D
Despite being unfamiliar with drawing any members of the Blackbeard Crew I actually found it surprisingly fun to draw these two. I feel like Catarina Devon is drawn slightly more to my interpretation, but I tried to keep the essence that makes her the strong woman character that she is. Lafitte is tying her hair. *-*

I'll probably end up extending the bottom of the picture to include more of both of them, might be better compositionally...

I plan to clean the lines, add a lot more detail to the clothing (I am all sorts of fail when it comes to drawing clothing wow) including the patterns on Lafitte's dress shirt, and, of course, color it. I thought about not showing this to anyone till I was completely finished, but then I figured I'd feel more comfortable letting Alina see a preview in case she wanted to add or change anything during the W.I.P. stage. =w=
